We use Personally Identifiable Information to customize the Site and content for the Site. We may email Visitors and Subscribers about research or purchase and selling opportunities on the Site or information related to the subject matter of the Site. We may also use Personally Identifiable Information to contact Visitors and Authorized Customers in response to specific inquiries, or to provide requested information.The section below provides more details about how this site uses data collected from users.


When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.

Opt-In Forms

We only collect first name and email address details of subscribers for the purposes of sending them the information they have opted in to receive and these details are stored with our email service provider (SendinBlue).

Contact Forms

We use a contact form plugin on the site. Data collected by the plugin may include IP address, user agent, name, email address, website, and message.

Emails sent through our contact form are stored in our email application and then either deleted after a response has been sent, or kept if we need to store it for our records and archived after 6-12 months.

If you submit details on the site using our contact form, we may delete it immediately upon acting on your request or keep your personal data on file for up to 12 months for customer service purposes only. We do not use the information submitted through our contact form for marketing purposes.


Cookies are used for a variety of reasons. We use cookies to obtain information about the preferences of our visitors and the services they select. We also use cookies for security purposes to protect our registered users. For example, if a registered user is logged on and the site is unused for more than 10 minutes, we will automatically log the registered user off.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

We use Google Analytics to understand visitor behavior on this site in order to better target our content and improve our services. No personally identifiable information is collected or forwarded to Google Analytics. We do not share Personally Identifiable Information about Visitors or Subscribers with anyone. We also offer the opportunity to “opt out” of receiving information or being contacted by us or by any agency acting on our behalf.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

What organizations are collecting the information?

In addition to our direct collection of information as stated above, we use third party services such as Google (Analytics), and integrations with social media networks (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) to share our content. Currently, we do not use credit card companies, clearinghouses, or banks who may provide such services as credit, insurance, or escrow services and would need to collect information from our Visitors, Subscribers, and Authorized Customers. We do not control how these third parties use such information, but we do ask them to disclose how they use personal information provided to them from Visitors, Subscribers, and Authorized Customers. Some of these third parties may be intermediaries that act solely as links in the distribution chain, and do not store, retain, or use the information given to them.

What partners or service providers have access to Personally Identifiable Information from visitors and/or authorized customers on the site?

We have entered into and will continue to enter into partnerships and other affiliations with a number of vendors. Typically, our partnerships and affiliations are limited only to pointing site visitors to product offerings on vendors’ sites. Therefore, we do not collect Personally Identifiable Information on behalf of vendors. Our privacy policy does not cover their collection or use of this information. They should provide you with this information when you visit their website.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

What choices are available to Visitors regarding collection, use, and distribution of the information?

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Visitors and Authorized Customers may opt out of receiving unsolicited information from or being contacted by us and/or our vendors and affiliated agencies by responding to emails as instructed.

GDPR Compliance

European Union citizens and residents can request to view or delete personal data collected or stored by this Site. We aim to comply with all reasonable requests in a timely manner. Depending on the request, we may require proof of identity.

California Privacy Rights under the CCPA

We use and disclose the categories of personal information we collect from and about you consistent with the business purposes discussed in the section “What Personal Data We Collect And Why We Collect It.” The CCPA also sets forth obligations for businesses that “sell” personal information to third parties.  We do not “sell” personal information and have not sold any personal information in the past 12 months.

    You have the right to request that we disclose to you the categories of personal information we collect or disclose (or have collected or disclosed in the past 12 months) about you, the categories of sources of such information, the business or commercial purpose for collecting your personal information, and the categories of third parties with whom we share/disclose personal information.  This information is also explained throughout this Privacy Policy. 
  2. Right to request deletion of personal information. 
    You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain conditions and limitations under the law.
  3. Right to Opt-Out of the sale of personal information. 
    The CCPA provides consumers with the right to opt out of the sale of their personal information. We do not share, sell, rent, or trade User Personal Information with third parties for their commercial purposes as defined under the CCPA. 
  4. Right to non-discrimination for exercising a consumer privacy right. 
    We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights under the CCPA. 

To exercise any of your rights as set out above on or after January 1, 2020, please contact us by submitting a request at You will be required to verify your identity before we are able to fulfill your request. You can designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. To do so, you will need to provide a written authorization or power of attorney signed by you for the agent to act on your behalf. You will still need to verify your identity with us. Note that consumers may only make a personal information request twice in a 12-month period under the CCPA. We will work to respond to your verifiable request within 45 days of receipt. Certain information may be exempt from requests under applicable law.

How is Personally Identifiable Information stored?

Personally Identifiable Information collected by this site is stored securely and is not accessible to third parties or employees except for use as indicated herein.

How does the Site keep Personally Identifiable Information secure?

All of our employees are familiar with our security policy and practices. The Personally Identifiable Information of our Visitors and Authorized Customers is only accessible to a limited number of qualified employees who are given a password in order to gain access to the information. We audit our security systems and processes on a regular basis. Sensitive information, such as credit card numbers or social security numbers, is protected by encryption protocols, in place to protect information sent over the Internet. While we take commercially reasonable measures to maintain a secure site, electronic communications and databases are subject to errors, tampering, and break-ins, and we cannot guarantee or warrant that such events will not take place and we will not be liable to Visitors or Authorized Customers for any such occurrences.

Industry Regulatory Disclosure Requirements

Disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information to comply with law.

We will disclose Personally Identifiable Information in order to comply with a court order or subpoena or a request from a law enforcement agency to release information. We will also disclose Personally Identifiable Information when reasonably necessary to protect the safety of our Visitors and Authorized Customers.

What happens if the Privacy Policy Changes?

We will let our Visitors and Authorized Customers know about changes to our privacy policy by posting such changes on the Site. However, if we are changing our privacy policy in a manner that might cause disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information that a Visitor or Authorized Customer has previously requested not be disclosed, we will contact such Visitor or Authorized Customer to allow such Visitor or Authorized Customer to prevent such disclosure.
